Sydarm Production Numbers?

Two Sydarms recently sold on Ebay. I am sure one of you outbid me on the damaged one. My wallet thanks you.

Something I have wondered for a while... How many were made in total? We're there separate production runs? If so, were there any differences?

I do not know the production but there were at least two separate production runs.

First run of sydarms was blasted grey bodies and minimag style rails.
Second run was polished or chrome bodies and a RT style rail. The bodies were as I understand it cleaned/polished leftovers from the previous run.

If I remember the history, they were originally produced as law enforcement tactical training tools and not generally available to the public. Of course they started leaking out into the hands of players from said law departments and AGD opened the market for some years and eventually ended production.
Some decade or more passed before they remarketed the newer version, with different rail and polished nickle body. The big difference that I saw was the old bodies & rails were milled for pump.

Can't help with serial numbers, but my original had five digits. They expected a good run.

The highest serial numbers I have seen were in the 700s. I wouldn't imagine there are many more than that. They were definitely released as law enforcement only to begin with. They have 8 shots to mimic a 1911 with a clip of 7+1 and a similar weight. I don't think departments liked the all that much based on the cops I talked to that had them(anecdotal sample of one department). They didn't quite point like a real gun and some of the cops were losing their fear of getting shot during the training exercises losing their desired force on force effect. I about shat myself when woooulf released a litter of them for stupid cheap a few years back in the olden mcb site. I picked up at least 4 and they have gone around since then. With a constant air adaptor, backbottle asa, and 13cuin tank they are still my favorite carbine style gun ever made.

The two that just sold on ebay were SY00854 and SY00858. I have one of the early style SY00150. I've always been curious how many early vs late models were made.
