Ccm S6 serial number says S5P

Anyone have a Ccm S6 with a serial number S5P? My friends says S6. Don’t mind the miss matched Ano.
90% of my markers go “Psssssssssssss”

Correct. Some S6's were made from milled S5's

That’s pretty cool I guess it makes sense with the p for prototype

Prototype (early S6 with removable Vert) likely 1st run. It’s missing a bit. I don’t believe that frame is original. Should have came with a Gmax frame.

My J2L was cut on an S6 body. The is was likely a prototype S5 body cut to S6 spec.

Yea I bought the body off a friend and threw that frame on. Wanted to get a dust black to match but didn’t find one. Are prototypes worth more or does it not change price?

No same price for the most part. The more complete it is the more it’s worth. Matching fancy ano adds to. Some people prefer certain models and options. Like that T grip handle is more rare than other designs. That model S6 body is better for Mech because you can remove the VSA and don’t have to machine the timing rod slot like you do on the non removable newer ones.

I will say that an early S6 cut from an S5 body and serial numbered as S5P to indicate that makes sense I'm not sure it's accurate to call it an S6 prototype. Of the two of the prototype S6s I have seen, both were mini bodies, had no serial numbers, and said prototype down the side of the body.

I can't say that's the case for all of them.

Correct it’s just a S5 blank they machined to the “new at the time” S6 spec. The prototype body’s are often unmarked or have a P in the serial # unless I’m mistaken. They mark the flawed body’s to.

CCM sometimes cut whatever they had at the time. Especially with employee markers. Like my J2L I got from Mondo is cut on an S6 blank. So it looks more like a J6 but it’s a one piece body with S6 style detents.

The P in the number definitely don’t correlate to the style body. Because my Wife’s S6 has the removable vert but it’s labeled S6.

I think they were just early blanks probably slotted for S5 prototype builds that got cut in the S6 design. Low numbers make me think these were early production S6. They later went with built in non removable vert setups like you see in the newer S6.5’s.

But there was a run of S6 like the ones posted above. My wife’s is # 269
