Looking for info on STBB pistols

Ok so trbo's build has made me want to tinker with a stbb pistol, which ones should I stay away from, threaded barrel or being able to add an extention is a must, being able to find rebuild kits and face seals would be nice to, also if I can find one I want to be able to run the rap4 firestorm extented mag

BT SA-17. Cocker threaded. Great under barrel lever changer. They made a feedneck adapter. Can be set up with a bottomline asa. Very consistent and air efficient. .

Yeah, they are all considered "Zeus clones" and they all have their own issues because the design was tweaked by pretty much everyone.

Not many had the threaded barrel though. The ACP obviously.

The pt Xtreme has a spyder threaded barrel. The problem is the threading is at the front end of the barrel. So unless you want to mess with chopping down the stock barrel to sit between the breach and whatever spyder barrel you want to use, you are pretty much stuck with the stock barrel

The biggest thing about the mags I've noticed is there's 2 styles of marker, some have the clips at the back around the breach, some have at least one forward around where the front sight would be. The ACP has clips at both ends so I don't think it matters what magazine you have.

The bolts and hammers are not spyder. Can't remember which but I think one of them uses spyder cup seal and maybe valve body but otherwise it's all specific to the marker

Most of them are not high quality, the PT Xtreme was probably the worst though. The actual Zeus wasn't that bad, but the every pt Xtreme I've come across was just junk.

The STBB pistol all of them wish they could be..... The AFT

It's like the Cadillac of stbb pistols.

Close second and oft over looked the piranha usp, they need a few tweaks but they are small well built and fairly reliable

I recommend staying away from ariakon. They are the least compatible and have the most proprietary parts. I believe the zues g2 had the extended barrel? It’s been a while. But I think the g2 has the most features you want while having the most cross compatibility.

If I'm not mistaken the Piranha USP and BT SA-17 both use full-sized Piranha guts, so they're both more reliable and much larger and heavier than the PT family of STBB pistols.

What you might be looking for is the RAP4 T68 pistol, which is the one that can take the Firestorm magazines and use a Spyder barrel as a muzzle extension.

Correct, the sa17 is the tacti-cool usp

Does anyone know of a full list of these stbb pistols that existed anywhere? The last time I was searching around I found that the pt professional that I have has basically been forgotten to time. I found only a few references to it online and I don't think any photos

This reminds me I have a Piranha Pistol
in a box somewhere that I hadn’t fixed yet… might need to dig that up.

Looks like I might be getting a sa17 here soon, lots of different options for however I want to run it and plus I saw a pic on Google where one had a tm7 mag adapter that kinda sold me on it
