    Using a raw asa rail

So I ordered an sconi rail in what I thought was gonna be silver but it turns out it's raw and I'm guessing un anodized at all, i kinda like it and want to use it, I know you don't want to use un anodized bodies or stuff that's gonna see abuse but what about a rail, could I just loctite everything and just run it till it gives out if ever?

Once a rail is heavily clamped down, some of the finish is damaged. It's a wear part. I frankly don't see the difference. I've cut dovetails in the bottoms of frames with some careful hacksaw and filing. They held up fine for years.

For $2 more you can get it anodized black from Sconi's shop. I use some of the unanodized ones and it is fine but, I would be very weary of clamping it to another unanodized parts as they can tend to "weld" together, but if your grip frame is anodized and your ASA is then you wouldn't have a problem.

It will work perfectly fine without anodizing. It probably will oxidize and slightly change finish/color though. Have ya asked to exchange it?
