I have been poking around the b/s/t section, and ebay here and there a decent amount. People that have higher end gear and know it, are selling it for a high price. You can pick up most tippmanns and spyders cheap. When you get into anything higher end you're usually looking at 300 to 500. Which is pretty expensive in my book.

In this economy collectors are buying from collectors, and new players are buying from amazon, or buying lots on ebay. Or so it seems. The scene feels a little less hot than it did in the early 2000's, but a lot of the stuff has survived.

I was away for about 10 years, and since i have gotten back into it, it seems like anything above a tippmann is automatically 300 to 500 starting. The electro scene seems to be pretty limited compared to ye olden days. Either you're spending 500 or 1200, with not a whole lot in between.

I dont see tax season being super hot with deals per say. I do think some people will clean out their gear closets and put stuff up for sale, but i dont see an explosion of new guns and gear hitting the market.

Combine the fact People are living on credit you got a down turn economy, inflation, and tax season. Hobby’s are the first things cut. Tax checks should be rolling out just as the season kicks off should boost sales somewhat. Stuff still sells just slower.

I know that during the '08-'09 Recession, my sales fell off a freakin' cliff. They didn't quite, but damn near might as well have, stopped entirely. As Ducks notes, when money gets tight, hobby and recreation stuff is the first to go.

Currently, my sales are somewhat down from what I'd expect from last year, but those were down from '22, which were down from '21, which was only marginally above '20... which was WAY down from '19.

'23 sales were roughly a third of '19- and that was despite increased production from my new-to-me CNCs.

I don't read much in the news these days, but talking with friends, I hear everything from "this economy is great, no problems!" to "we're going to have to sell the kids and move into a refrigerator box". Best I can say is I haven't seen the same 'cliff' as '08, but there's absolutely no question sales are significantly down from '19.

Just my eighty-six cents, adjusted for inflation.
