Hello, I haven’t used a mag before and picked one up recently. The trigger frame I have on it stays depressed and the trigger doesn’t rebound. No air in it and don’t have any. Is it supposed to be free moving? Or does it need pressure for the trigger to move to the forward position?

It's a fully pneumatic trigger, there is no spring so without air it can just flop around

If you want to learn how to troubleshoot automag, there are two videos from Tom Kaynes of AGD that will explain everything.
They use to come on a VHS with the automags
Just be carefull 1 automag can become 2, 3 or more automags quickly.
Most of the orings on the valve are Urethane and will last for a long time. Especially the power tube oring (010). Buy 4 or 5 of those and you will be good for a long time. AGD still sell rebuild kit and most of the parts also.
Automag like oil, you don't need grease for them.💀Team Ragnastock💀
