Pbnation is practically dead. There aren't as many posts on here these days, it seems. And even ebay seems to have a lot less gear listed for sale each day. It's like everything is drying up. Does anyone else notice this?

Is there a lack of used gear for sale?

It hasn't dried up, people are just lazy and it is too easy to post to facebook and the like. Alot of used markers have gone to shops to be sold too.
Companies like trademygun, mazens, pbsports and more sell used stuff and most offer trade ins as well.BeardedWorks.com (Your Inception Designs and Shocktech Dealer)

BW Ebay

I buy Automags and Mag Parts also.

The market is trash right now and most people aren't selling things.
To further it.... People don't want to pay for shipping most of the time which on cheaper items nukes profit

You are not kidding, to ship 1 barrel in good packaging I charge $10 which is just the postage, I take the hit for the packaging material. I found out this weekend that to buy just a small roll of bubble wrap and 6 rolls of good packing tape it now costs me $45 then I had to add in some tubes at $14 which gets me enough to ship 4 barrels. I am a big recycler of packaging but sometimes you just have to buy new.

I also only tend to use flat rate boxes... Which chases away people buying cheaper parts. Sad truth is for a lot of things "Not worth shipping, not worth selling, not worth keeping"

There's a ton for sale still, but most of it is on FB these days. I wish it was somewhere else (anywhere else actually) but anything you want is there. There's also The Vault and Marker apps where you can buy stuff. I feel like eBay has become a less popular way to sell for a multitude of reason including higher fees and buys backing out.
The big problems with FB is that there are a TON of scammers out there now and there are so many groups that finding what you want might be harder because if you don't know what group to look in, you might not find what you're looking for. As a buyer right now, things are cheap. But as a seller FB means the buyers are going to beat you up and want stuff for the lowest dollar.-------------

The last few marker purchases of mine have been brand new stuff from online stores because I'm over buying on FB too. Legit checks are a joke and if I don't save a post, I will never find it again. It's ridiculous. I'm over trying to buy stuff of any value over there because most of the people want you to gift it to them and do legit checks on them, or they give you crap over the whole deal.
The last straw for me was recently I paid a guy $800 for a CS2 (G&S) and while he had my money, didn't ship when he said he would. I asked and he said he would prefer F&F instead. I said well then just refund my money and let's walk away. I ended up having to call him out in the group and his buddies that claim he's "legit" all jumped on me. But he had my money and wouldn't refund me and wanted another $800 as a F&F payment. He finally refunded me and I ended up buying one from PunishersPB instead. Just too much of a hassle on FB. It reminds me of the early 2000's on PBN where you had a ton of immature kids on there.

Swap meets are great I manage to sell the strangest stuff
-
A field two hours away had a big game and "swap meet", but I was the only person to take wares. They let me set up tables after the last game, but almost everyone had already gone home. I made enough to cover the additional gas it cost me to drag my trailer, but that's about it. I think fields should have more swap meets, but actually plug them.

I have tired of waiting on new parts (Neummech) so I just try to find stuff on the used/NOS market and keep an eye on the New stuff. If I buy something used and the new part comes available I might buy the new too and then just sell the used later to offset some of the cost.

What do you have to lose from posting a WTB thread? Best case someone has exactly what you're looking for at a decent price, worst case you're out 45 seconds of your time.

Well, I've been thinking it's about time to retire.
That'll be a big dump on the market. Last time I pulled it all out the markers alone covered six sheets of plywood.
Thirty-six years of collecting, over 100 markers, a quarter ton of magazines and books.
Some pretty rare stuff in there. Once it's all documented (pics to show) MCB is about the only place I'd market them in.
Although, I have a fantasy of doing a video when pulling it all out, like one of those "barn find reveals" you see on the Ytube.

Selling used stuff on eBay is a minefield. The purchases page puts a giant “Return this item” button right on each order and lord knows they will use it since it was probably an impulse buy anyway. Between fees, rampant returns and even paying fees on shipping collected it’s gotten pretty bad. I’ve been selling there since 2002 and I think this is my last year.

Man, I just noticed the shipping! Beep shipped me just a rail and trigger frame (thanks!) and it was 18 freaking dollars! What a racket!

For me to break even (or get close) on just a single 14" barrel I would need to charge $12-13 for USPS 1st Class mail (or Parcel Post they are the same $$) to include my packaging cost. So $18 is not out of the ball part for 2 parts. I hate passing it on the the buyer but it is either pay for actual shipping or I ramp up the price on the parts. I personally try to keep my prices down and give a buyer a quote for what it costs me and that is usually just the postage and I eat the packaging but I am re-thinking that after having to buy some packaging this last week.
