    Tom Kaye and his research

I hear that Tom Kaye from AGD did a handful of research on paintball accuracy. Where can i find this information?

The spinning barrel and the transparent barrel are some of the things im interested in, but id love to read up on everything he researched in relation to accuracy

And now, 20+ years later, the paint is crappy again. There was a time when I followed Tom’s bore match post/article religiously. Now I overbore. I don’t think we’ll ever get back to late 90’s/early 2000’s paint.

Dammit, we did. The sherer paint from Russia was freaking amazing just 4 years ago. Then the ukraine war happened and I haven't seen it sense.

Pro-Shar (the Russian paint) is still around, but I'm not sure if they produce it in their own new facility, or if they white label from a company like Eesticaps (Estonian company that makes paint for distributors like D3fy).

Infamous branded paint is all supplied by Pro-Shar. They might be focusing more on that route now because it kinda removed the Russian association, and Infamous is good at marketing in their own right.

Last couple times I played about 5 years ago we were shooting pro Shar and it wasn't bad at all I was actually pretty happy with it

Tom Kaye was so ahead of everyone else back then, it is scary.
His approach to problems is so simplistic, yet usually is correct.

I used to be fastidious with bore matching now I'm at tube is tube level of playing because paint is so inconsistent

Research the magnus effect. It proves everything you need to know. Barrels and guns help with consistency not accuracy at all. Period end of sentence the science is in. How straight the ball Flys is determined by how much it spins (less = straighter) and how much it spins is determined by the ball.

The debate is over, there are those that understand the proof ( look up punkworks tests) and those that pretend and autococker is more accurate.

Consistency = accuracy. If every paintball is going 290 fps with no variation in speed, you're going to have a much tighter circle in which the paint ultimately falls. If you have wild variations, you're going to have a giant circle. Which one do you want?

Depends on which end of the barrel I am on.

Tight groups for my opponent and me. I just want my opponent to be a crappy shot. That way he doesn’t catch me with a lucky stray; he just consistently misses.
