    11/16 Valves

    Soooo

Need to that my S6P apart again today. Fresh orings and valve stem seal didn't stop the leak. I may have damaged an oring getting the valve back in, a common problem with these, or worst case the stem or body might need to be replaced.

What's you favorite valve for a pump build and why?

If you tighten the valve set screw too much it can off center the valve leading to a leak. So if you cranked it down that could cause a problem.
Otherwise it is pretty easy to chip an oring moving down the tube.

It’s pretty rare for a valve to go to the point you can’t rebuild it. The regulators are more likely to cause issues especially if they are adjusted outside there pressure ranges, or people play with them a lot. (Set it em and forget em) I only mess with them when I start to notice performance degrade.

Have you checked your reg pressure?

Do you have a way to test it? If not I recommend building one or borrow one. It makes cleaning and tuning so much easier.

I would shoot CCM an email if you need rebuild parts see what they have. Often they don’t post everything they have because people will scalp parts. They keep a lot of stuff on hand for repairs.

I tried a bunch of different valves in my CCM the valves make very little difference in the performance of a pump. It’s all in the spring to hammer weight balance. That being said I would just replace yours with a new one if it even needs a valve. I’m guessing it’s more likely a reg issue.

This might be helpful to. Oh when replacing the valve pin seal make sure you get the right duro one. It’s a 90 maybe harder compound then your standard black bunna.

In this video I go into the the bottom tube of the SS25 and Series 6 Prototype style markers. I take it apart, give it some maintenance, and then put it bac...

I have that playlist saved and even downloaded copies of all the videos just in case YouTube took those ones down. I don't open it up without them.

Reg should be fine. It's a 2ltr with probably 7-8 cases through it since a rebuild. Hasn't given me a problem or been adjusted in a long time.

I dropped a ID valve into my Karni pump will good success, it was a 9/16 valve but they make 11/16 valves as well. Used the recommend springs and had good results. I’m now messing with balanced valves but just haven’t spent much time getting them tuned yet.

My “Go To” 11/16 valve are my Morph valves.. I’ve basically perfected them for how I like my markers to feel when shooting. I’ve yet to drop my Lazarus valves into anything to compare just yet but I’m sure I can get it there

You could experiment with one of the new Lazarus valves but you likely just need to change the oring on the valve pin and check that your reg isn’t spiking Or turned up to high. I have the right duro ones if you want me to mail you a few. PM me your address I can send them out Monday. It’s leaking down the barrel right?

I'd be surpremely interested in seeing a direct comparison between the morph and the lazarus valve. Also curious how exactly you're running the morph. I love mine but I haven't spend a whole lot of time actually tuning it.

I'm not saying it's not human error. Most things in my life are.

Was working fine. Sat for a couple weeks. Leaked down the barrel, took it apart and put new rings and rebuilt the stem. When I put it back together it leaked worse. I was running out of time to mess with it that day but with the front block off and stem our it looked like there was bear metal showing in the hole the stem goes in.

I'm hoping, and assuming, that I damaged a seal putting it back together, but it got me thinking, since CCM says they have no valves in stock, what do people like?
