    Autococker back block thread I.d

Hey guys I don't know much about auto clunkers, seems the threads in the back block for the ram rod to connect are striped.
I guess heli coil or time sert? has any one run into this problem? If so what do you do to fix it

I think I'll heli coil or time cert it to thr same thread but does Amy one here know the thread I.d for thr back block where the ram rod screws in?

    They are 10-32.

Maybe someone more knowledge about helicoils can chime in, but that spot is under a fair amount of stress even when set correctly, and a LOT of stress if your cocker isn't set up right. I'm not sure a helicoil would hold up long term. Good news is that looks like a 2k4 pro stock so new back blocks for those aren't pricey or hard to find.

10-32, the autococker section has a sticky with all the threads.
I would also spend the $10 or 20 on a new back block, like Myrkul said.
Enough force was already used to rip out good threads, don't add a band aid.
Back it out a fingernails width when you set the block to the body at rest so it doesn't happen again.

Lmao.... band-aid? Time cert would be like a million times stronger than the aluminum block

Yes it would, but look at how thin the edge would be.

Unless your sitting on a like of inserts you can likely find the same block cheaper than an insert kit
