How to move hydro sticker on tank?

I got my tank rehydroed and they unfortunately put the hydro sticker in the worst possible place on the tank. I'd like to move it. It appears to be a regular metallic sticker with some clear coating over it. It seems I can just peel the clear coating off. My questions are:

    1) Is there any place I should NOT move the sticker to? Obviously I won't put it on all the original information about when the tank was born and what it's rated for. But, can I not put it on the bottom half, which is covered up by a tank sleeve?

    2) What should I use as a clear coat over the sticker?

    3) Assuming I cannot peel off all of the clear coat (and really I think I can, it seems to just be some semi soft gel substance), how do I remove it?

Probably best to leave it be and the metallic stickers rarely come off intact.

Tried taking one off of a dead tank once, it did not end well. Also pretty sure if you did it on a live tank it could be considered tampering with the test and you could get in some trouble, or at least have the field reject the hydro test since you "altered" it

Ask them if they can put the sticker on a better spot if possible?

              It's basically permanent.

If it's the disc style sticker it will fragment instead of peel off.

They are anti-tamper stickers and will absolutely destroy themselves if you try to do anything with them.

Sorry boss, it's there for the long haul.

I would not even attempt that would be tampering and even if you were successful in removing it you would be violating the hydro and replacing it yourself could get you in serious trouble especially on the liability side. That being said if you insisted in removing it you would need to remove it mechanically (no solvents) due to the risk of damaging the underlying epoxy setting the fibers. So that would mean essentially grinding/sanding the epoxy to expose the sticker then scraping that off or just grinding it away. Regardless this is going to scuff up the gel coat over whatever you are looking to expose and even if you put gel coat over the scuffs it will never look original aesthetically. Then you would still have to send it off for inspection and re-hydro and during that inspection they could potentially fail the bottle for tampering. Sorry IMO not worth the hassle or risk to even attempt.

Out of curiosity, where did they put it on the tank to make it a bad spot?

I donโ€™t think I ever really thought about the placement of a re-hydro sticker to make it a bad spot. Is it under your tank cover or something?

It's the American Flag Ninja tank with the bald eagle. They put the sticker right over the damn eagle's face.

Or the hydro guy has a really strong hatred of eagles for some reason?

You could use a syringe with 99% isopropyl alcohol with a needle to soften the glue under the sticker and slowly remove the sticker or "slide" it to another location. Start from ont edge, lift the sticker and reach further with the needle. Might not work on all sticker but I have seen this technique used to move parts that where glued together.

I doubt that will work here, most of the hydro plates/stickers i've sen are full on epoxied on and over.
