Spire ir eye type

Any one know what type of eyes they are, my spire needs a new eye board because the red emitter isnt bright any more. Its either a $25 board or mabe a $1 led, theres really not much to the board.

Do you have a picture? I'd bet money it's a generic, off-the-shelf LED.

Although I thought the "IR" in the name meant infrared. Does the current emitter produce visible red light?

Ill get a pic today after work, it has 3 "leds" one emits a led light. 1 on one side and 2 on the other, ill try to find a pic

The single led is the light source, right now its super dim.

Yeah, those definitely look like standard LEDs, though they may be hard to desolder/solder in that position. If you're confident in your soldering abilities, I'd say go for it.

Yup, definitely one of the downsides of cheap commodity electronics. But you get 100 tries too!
