Headband Material

Anyone have any specific suggestions on source able material for the main part of paintball head ties. I have had a few ideas that i wanted made and its super pricey. I started to learn to sew once and figured id try to make a few of my own ties the way i wanted commissioned.

Was pointed to old school renegade jerseys but those cost hundreds at this point.

Just looking for a solid durable material to try out some ideas.

Hit up thrift stores for jeans.... I am currently cutting up issue Air Force digital tiger jackets for head bands

nice thanks. so maybe just sheets of like a lighter denim. im gonna make long ties and i mostly want them in whole long strands from sheets rather than sewing two halves together to create the length.

For carcass of a headband Cotton Duck material is a good choice. It holds shape, absorbs moisture, ties knots that hold and is pretty easy to sew. Add some terry cloth liner to forehead area for extra absorption/padding. Cotton Duck comes in many weights so go to a good fabric store and just feel the material. Always pick a little stiffer then you think you want because as it gets used and washed it loosens/softens up some. It comes in all sorts of colors and patterns and is real easy to dye. Then if you want the "do-rag" head cover there are all sorts of mesh fabrics out there that can be easily incorporated. I used to make my own head gear all the time and really like Cotton Duck for the actual headband. Stay clear of most synthetics they stretch too much are hard to work with and do a poor job of absorbing moisture. They dry out quicker but get nasty after a while and I always had issue with my skin getting sensitive after a day against the synthetic products. I usually hit the field for a rec day of play with 2-3 headbands and just switch them out occasionally.
