    Custom Jewels?

Does anyone make custom Jewels? Or do you know someone who does? I'm working on an exceptionally rare restoration build and the stock jewels have wandered off. I've managed to find pictures of them online using the way back machine, but the odds of ever finding one in the wild are near zero.

    Please just let me know!

There was someone in the Autococker Gawking Group that had some customer autococker ones made but I am not sure which vendor he used. Not sure if he's on here but if so, hopefully he will chime in.

You can get custom ones made? Like bubble stickers?

Which is why I'm asking because I might know someone who made custom jewels for a specific set of markers

          If it's anything big long there's a chance. There's a big catch I'll explain but there's a chance

Ever heard of Shrinky-Dinks? Child toys from long ago but still available.
As long as you have the logo & a printer, they come pretty close.
May take some trial and error to get size right after shrinking.

I have not heard of shrinky-dinks! I'll look into that more if the current route fails.

Looks like you can make them fairly easy print on heavy card stock cut to shape rase them up off a surface so the edges are elevated then use a dropper to fill the surface area it self levels and surface tension keeps it in place and gives it a cool round domed edge.

Amazon epoxy 8oz is like $9 in material.

That's a good idea, if I can't find anyone to make them I'll probably go this route.

If you get bubbles you can just hit it with some heat like a torch. From what I have seen. You would probably want to put a coat on the back side so when they get paint behind them it don’t eat up the paper. But there is a YouTube video of a guy makes Porsche key chains this way he lets them set up then flips them over and dose both sides. They come out pretty cool. I might try and make some CCM ones for my double hinge frame that’s missing the jewel if I get the time.

I know TheInflicted did a bunch of these for himself. He said he uses https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1 as the top coat over a printed image.

Well, everyone I have spoken to fell through, so it looks like I'm making these myself. Fingers crossed that this works!

Used to work in the same building where they manufactured jewels for all kinds of customers. They would print the images on an adhesive backed sheet and die cut the shapes then peel off the scrap leaving just the desired images/stickers on the backing sheet. Then they would apply enough resin so it would wick to the edges and get the desired dome height before curing it (can't remember if it was UV and heated cured or just heat cured). Pretty simple process and if you picked up some adhesive backed printable paper and clear cure UV resin, you should be able to replicate them pretty closely.

Looks like there's also some sellers on Etsy that make custom jewels for relatively cheap (couple dollars each).

I ended up using the way back machine to troll the old website and get a highish resolution image, spent too much time cleaning up the image in MS paint, then went to "sheet labels" and had them throw it on 154 stickers (minimum order size) for $15. I put the stickers on some wax paper for the next part.

Added the UV Resin that The Inflicted used, and some kind of unholy UV light abomination that I found in my wife's finger nail supply, and these actually turned out REALLY well!

          Thank you SR_mattfor the tip!!!

Thank you! I think the originals had more of a gold/silver reflective backing to them, and the face itself was a bit larger, but I'm very happy with how these turned out. The REALLY exciting news here though was that I was able to get 154 of these suckers for $25....

So that's the "all in" cost of a custom jewel. $25 for way more then you will ever need.

Might need to follow up on that if I keep rebuilding so many guns 😂

Man, make some custom MCB jewels. Hawaiian print background and if it fits a jar of mayo somewhere
