    Protecting polished aluminum

Ok, have a PGP frame that I polished up but want to give it some protection from corrosion. Any suggestions?

Preferably something that makes it so it can still be handled/used without smudging.

Keep in mind the stock pgp frame is cast junk not anodize-able aluminum.

Clear powder coat may be the best option.

wouldn’t powder coating require getting rid of the polish for the coating to adhere?

No, not really. Powder coating is basically a plastic that is applied electrostatically, and then cured via heat and/or UV. It's basically the same way a laser/LED printer works.

You could try Permalac really tuff stuff, I work in the fine art bronze industry we have used it on public sculpture and seems to hold up fine to moderate abuse.

                        I hadn't thought about cerekote.

I know I read about it at some point but anyone have a rough idea of how the price compares?
