    Help with orings

Ok so i got these from scottieb in a trade for some spyder stuff he said he believes they are spyder hammer orings but wasn't 100% sure, I know I won't know without trying them but is their anyone that can confirm that that's what these are, iv never come across green orings before

Also what are the normal sizes of orings in your typical stbb I have some fish and a mongoose I wanna tinker around with

You can get buna rings in just about any color so the color doesn't matter

Spyder hammer rings are 015, it's the same as a tank o ring. From the factory they are polyurethane but it doesn't really matter that much, the poly just lasts a little longer

    Technical specs are
    AS568 015 polyurethane 70 durometer

Piranhas also have 015 hammer o rings but the hammer itself is larger than a spyder so they are not interchangable

Almost everything in a typical spyder or piranha is 015. The basic models that's all they have. If they have a regulator or sometimes an expansion chamber then sometimes they have a few different sizes but that's about all

These are HNBR orings. They're basically the same as buna but the chemical resistance is a little different (and they're more expensive).

Fat striker (side cocking) Spyders use 016 orings on the striker. I'm pretty sure Piranhas also use 016 but it might have to be 70 durometer whereas the Spyders can get away with either 70 or 90 durometer. Urethane is more resistant to CO2 and abrasion so it's used on the critical seals like the hammer and front of the valve.

Ok so going through and organizing it all I have short fat hammers that fit my fish's and then I have a longer skinner hammer that fits my spyder and mongoose bodies, do they both use a 015 oring

Not all side cocking spyders are fat hammer. Actually I've run across more that are not than ones that are. But if it is a fat hammer, it is always side cocking

In my experience yes. Where the o ring interacts with air in the piranha is necked down so that's why the hammer itself is larger but they use the same size o ring as the spyders. In your photo look at the very front of those hammers, the portion in front of the o ring is a smaller diameter than the hammer body

Honestly I think you could get away with either a 015 or 016 on the hammer though. They are only under pressure for a fraction of a second so as long as they push the hammer back it really doesn't matter
