    Wood turning

I have wrap around SP camo woody grips on my Phantom. BecauseI I'm bored I was thinking about having someone with wood working and lathe talent make me a raincover and a threaded over the barrel ribbed pump arm. Wondering if the SP grips I have are made to look like bocote wood using veneer. Interested in cost and suggestion on size of wood blanks to get. I can find 1.5x1.5 x 6 but I think 3x3x6 would be better. Thanks in advance.

Those are dyed layers of ply not exotic woods here are some links to where you can source:

Head over to wood workers warehouse on Silver lane in East Hartford. They have a ton of stuff there. Cavemanpaintball worked those grips for you and maybe he could send you in the right direction

Thanks Chris, I'll head over to warehouse. At least it's not snowing today. Lol. I have a talented friend with a lathe and a drill press. I'd rather work on a blank of good size and pattern likeness to the grips then deal with laminates. The blanks can be pricey based on rarity and hardness.
