Old c02 and compressed air tanks

I have some tanks, must be over 15 years old. What do people do with old compressed air tanks and c02 tanks? i’ve read the Carbon fiber cannot be salvaged due to its age.

Take off the regulators keep them/sell for parts and trash the carbon fiber tanks,
sell the co2 tanks for scrap metal. unless you have access to insanely cheap hydro testing then you can scrap the other air tanks as well because buying new with a new reg is almost cheaper these days than paying hydro and hunting down old reg seals

CO2 tanks aren't worth retesting.... Generally I scrap them but you'll need to remove the valves

The aluminum tanks make great hanging targets especially if you cut to bottoms off. They make wonderful ringing noises when you hit them. I have been thinking about making Wind Chimes out of some for my wife.

My father made the ugliest but neatest sounding wind chimes nest a 7 oz tank in a 12 oz tank in a 20 oz tank... He knew the 7 oz tanks are good for life but we had so many (and still do) we didn't mind cutting one.

Oh CO2 bottles for a while seemed to breed faster then rabbits. I have metal scrapped many over the years but I hate not making use of them.

I bought a bottle hanger plug (3D-printed) from someone. Stanchy, i think. I have a pink (breast cancer awareness) Ninja 68ci that reaches end-of-life next year, but I retired it early. The ol' gal earned it.

Also still have my very first tank: a Pure Energy co2 tank w/ Smart Parts on/off valve & anti-siphon tube. Gonna hang it with the cap version of the bottle hanger (also Stanchy).

Both of these are going on the display rack in the garage, once we're done re-organizing the garage.
