So I have a tippmann 98 asa that I want to use to run a bottomline and I noticed normal macro line fittings don’t fit in the asa but it does work in the reducer. I assume it should be a braided line should be the solution. My understanding was that braided line and macro line are both 1/8. So I am not sure what will fit on both ends.

The angle of the phantom frame will make every ASA point down, or even up if it's a flat one. You'd need the Phantom frame "upswept" to remove the angle, or try tracking down the 5* adapter block CCI used to make that allows you to mount ASA's horizontal. Or even more rare, an already upswept frame OR a CCM 86 frame.

Update: Conveniently after a bunch of googling and ebaying i found exactly what I was looking for
https://www.ebay.com/itm/256513124229
This seller has a bunch of different configurations and I just happen to have a m98 asa with a braided line with a reducer included.

It allows the tank to sit pretty straight on the gun. It almost negates the angle on the 45 frame. Also I know it can be hit or miss with other duckbill asa’s because the back angle of the frame can block the asa from mounting. So unless they they are pretty much flat on the top like this asa I wouldn’t know which would fit and which wouldn’t. All of this because I didn’t want such a big downward angle and I didn’t want to buy the $40 asa on phantoms website 😭😭
