Ok guys what do I need to know before I decide to build a pre-2k cocker or pump, I kinda want to build a mini pre-2k pump

Mini kits aren't common for pre 2k so there's that.
Past that everything is basically the same except front block thread, vertical adapters and if you go way early body the IVG -

Ok so I went on eBay looking at bodies and it seems most pre-2k bodies already have a detent and lug adjustment hole drilled and I guess if I wait I can find one that has been threaded for an ivg, there's a dust silver one on there but its kinda scratched up that's been threaded for one or maybe I'm overthinking that part like usual
Now what about the vasa was drilling them to whatever the 2k spec was a thingComment

No I have one of those I'm building already, I just like the old school look of a slab side cocker and figured I'd build one for my pump gun, I was over thinking everything and I don't want to have to take the frame off to adjust the hammer lug I'm lazy lol
As for the vasa I just wanna be bougie and use one of the attktx vasa screws, ecapnation said they were different but didn't specify howComment

Yes, not having an externally adjustable hammer is inconvenient if you're building a mech, but not that big of a deal if you're running a pre2k mini pump.
Less volume was desired by those of us seeking higher 12gram efficiency, and a pre2k mini body checks those boxes off. I actually have an old slab side right feed mini cocker in pieces that's been sitting for a LONG time if you're still looking.
I'll post pics when I can. I think russc did a write up on 12g efficiency for various platforms several years ago, and pre2k minis with correct springs performed fairly well on unregulated co2. 25-35 usable shots isn't bad at all with a stacked tube pump vs a nelson-based pump.Comment

If you do decide to go for the Pre-2k mini project, I may have a pump kit. I had it for a similar build but that plan may be going back into the filing cabinet for now. So I might part with it, haven't fully decided yet.Comment

Using a 98 or 99 body will save you a few headaches. They're already drilled for lug adjustments and use threaded IVGs.

Other side. I do have the back block, mini front block with vasa, original internals, and pre2k bolt as well. Also have a period correct stainless air america hpr if interested. It weighs more than the body.Comment

If I got a tap to thread the body for a threaded ivg is it already drilled to the correct size so I could just run the tap through it or would it have to be drilled out a little bigger
i might even try to drill and tap the banjo to 2k spec
superman if I can thread the ivg myself what would you charge to add a lug adjustment hole and drill and tap the front banjo to 2k spec and maybe drill the extra vasa hole like the 2k bodies hell I may even be able to do that myself I can drill a couple extra holes if that's all it isComment
