So after a day of paintball with some other guns I took out my pgp (newer style model) just to shoot some paint at the chrono range. First shot was good (260ish), next few were ok, and after that velocity started to drop shot by shot. I would say the first 10 shots were probably 'usable', after that they got progressively less so. It's spring weather so it was coolish, but not too cold, maybe around 12C/54F. Since I was shooting over the chrono I wasn't giving it too much time between shots, so I'm sure that contributed to the velocity drop. I've played with it in games a couple of times and I seem to remember getting about 2 tubes of usable shots out of it. My question is, is this what I should expect from it, or is there anything I can do to squeeze a bit more out of it with respect to shot-to-shot velocity and number of shots per 12gram?

Is the ball rolling out? I’d recommend wedgits.
Also recommend an RVA and fresh springs“Jsc5150 is right…” - DocsMachine -
Post a picture of the pierce on your 12gram. A shallow pierce can do weird things.

Pgp 2k cartridge valve should get you to minimum 20-25 shot at a relatively constant velocity.
clean the hammer and lower tube oil oring valve.
Check if the 12g face seal is still good.
Like Jordan mentionned, not all 12g are equal.
mosa/ico or leland/redrock are good

Like JeepDVLZ45 mentionned check a spent 12g puncture hole size. It should be a small needle size round hole.
And pictures always help and fun

There are a few things that could cause it.
You might need a longer pierce pin, (or to sharpen your current one) but you can swap in a stiffer hammer spring or softer valve spring as well (depends on what you have available). It’s a lot of swap, test, swap test (it can be arduous)
I had one that needed a “thinner” face seal as well.
My shallow pierce would work OK in warmer weather, but it would freeze up if it was under 50*. (I’ll play with 12g most of the way through the winter)

By popular demand, here's a pic of the gun and the pierce. The pierce looks ok, but maybe too big? I'll try the other 12gram cartridges for sure, but I suspect something else is going on due to the steady drop in velocity after 3 or 4 shots. I'm going to order some face seals and a pierce pin from PGP junkies to see if that will make a difference.

I would give it a good cleaning and Oil it. That thing looks super clean I bet it wasn’t used much. It might just need a lil break in time and a good cleaning.
At 50* you will see a reduction in shot count but you should get better numbers and higher velocity. It’s likely that lower tube needs a good cleaning. Like others have said try different 12g too. Shooting slower helps the faster you shoot the less time co2 has to expand.
I bet Jordan I bet could freak bore it if you wanted to go custom. He’s the brass guy up your way.Comment

As stated, clean the internals. Replace tho bolt o-ring with a 111 o-ring. Also, since its a cartridge valve, theres a couple things to check. First, take a small allen key or pick, take the bolt out and check the port between the barrel and valve. You want to make sure its aligned properly. Also check the valve pin is moving freely in the valve where the hammer strikes it. I've seen them get worn out and hang up sometimes.
You definitely should be getting at least 20-25 shots with it bone stock. You can't just rapid fire shot after shot, especially in cooler weather. You gotta give it a few seconds between shots.
The best thing I've found to increase efficiency and consistency is to re-barrel the marker for Freak inserts. Paint is tiny now, so that stock .686 bore isnt doing you any favors.Comment
