    Phantom pump rod

In need of a pump rod, is there any reason this can't be made from a steel rod and than threaded?

    Seems possible.

Stock pump rod is .186 diameter, threaded 10-32 x .861" long, 4.15" overall length, .41" overall height. It's a "coined" bend (0 radius on the tight side).

Thanks for the pictures and the extra effort of the measurements. I picked up a couple of phantom parts lot and am trying to piece it back together. Being this is my first phantom I am trying to figure it out what is all missing. Thanks again.

They can definitely just be made with steel rod from ACE hardware. I had to make a longer one to work with an OTB pump handle and a deadly winds barrel. Works great and has held up with zero issues.

Is it very difficult to thread the ss rod?

It's a little tricky, but the rods are long enough where you can get plenty of practice using a die and can mess up multiple times and it'll still only run you a couple dollars. Use lot of oil and go slow!

Be sure to clean the threads really good afterward too, I usually wash them then run a nut over them a bunch of times then wash them again to make sure there aren't any burs.
