How to Video on Paintball Anodizing

So maybe I dreamed this, but I thought there was a well known paintball anodizer that filmed the entire process of splash anodizing a paintball marker. I remember it being pretty long, but interesting. I have searched a ton for it, and can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know who it was and where to find the video? That is if it exists, I am starting to think I made this up.

I have a buddy who has everything to anodize, and does anodize parts for his tinker shop. However, he has only done raw aluminum in solid matte colors only. He said he would give a shot doing some gloss single colors for me (I'll toss him some Tippmanns or something to test out on). I figured that video would be a good way for him to pick up any intricacies with paintball parts.

    Thanks gents!

Quite possibly the saddest post I’ve seen on MCB. That was a great video.

Well, that is a huge bummer, but at least I am not crazy, I knew I had watched a video like that. From what I remember, it was a good video. It would be a shame if you made another!

I remember the video well. Very informative and well done. I am surprised by the annodizing community secrecy. Hard to find good advice and tips on different techniques.

Sad that the knowledge of the many doesn't outweigh the greed of the few.

What's the big secret, anyone here who has done any anodizing will tell you how it's done and how to mask off layers for other colors, process doesn't look hard just be safe

other techniques can be using some sort of oil to create marbling. shaving cream and aerosol oil like PAM cooking spray can do stuff like that.

one thing that could prob open up a lot of door for folks is, https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/heavy-in...pes/anodizing/ and a die cutter

like who knows if its a secret, but its probably not something that has been explored by a bunch of people yet

since we dont know, lets share some videos on cool anodizing techniques!

This guy has a good one on masking. really the foundation of all design besides fade, which is just dipping to get a variable zone

I cant imagine the techniques used by lacrosse players for head dying use, oil smears, hot glue line, .svg sticker patters, etc are that much different same principle of water based dye
I used to do all the lacrosse stuff for extra cash in highschool. Dying the heads is insanely simple, just boil some RIT dye in a container. Curious what would need to be changed for an anodized process vs. plastic dye...

thats what I'm saying. its the same thing. but actually easier because you can clean strip after masking vs plastic lacrosse head stains so you have to go light through dark color.

thats why you can do black splashes over aluminum

.svg sticker cutters, Lazer engraving over thin mask, etc etc, the technique game is crazy. like the yo-yo scene have some creative people

The Disney music is on point, would be nice without it but it does feel like Walt Disney is explaining how his art is made.

Loved watching this when he first posted it before he took it down and loved watching it again, its kinda mesmerizing just watching the ano come to life with each step and then when the nail polish is removed it's just like WOW
