Tips, Tricks Bob Long Timmy Valve orings

Rebuilt my Timmy and have been dreading the final air up. Tried tonight and the valve leaks like a sieve. Other than getting it rebuilt but someone who knows what they are doing (thankfully do have a local guy) any tips on getting the valve oring not to get clipped by the body?

Ha! That little bastard. Best thing I came up with when I was doing the legacy tech thing was to use a o ring pick through the valve retention screw hole and push the o ring down so it doesn't get clipped on the way in. Make sure it's lubed up real good before putting it in. (That's what she said)

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about the air passage on top except hope.

This is also why, when I built one I would get the valve in, front block and LPR in, and then pressure test(pinch off the noid supply hose) because then if it does leak that's less to take apart to try again

Joy. May just get the local guy to it, he specialized in Timmies. My patience for such things these days is limited.

If I were in your area I'd help you out. But yeah, Bob didn't do enough chamfering in, well in my opinion any of his markers so make them not do stuff like this. Perks of the design I guess

          Two methods...

          Lots and lots of grease.

          Or...

Go in front the front, I've been doing this for years on bodies with excessive cut outs

Hmm, I was wondering about that. Might be worth a try. Going to need some new o-rings.

Good news, bad news. I have the valve o-ring sealed to it’s not leaking at the front block. Now it leaks down the barrel though. Would tuning the LPR affect this or do I need to replace that valve stem o-ring?

No. Valve stem o-ring or the puppet itself is worn

You could zero out the LPR to see if the leak is from the LPR side or HPR side
