    Geo 2 noid

I am about to show my ignorance of anything newer than the year 2000 (especially if it's not a cocker) but I know the complaint with the older Eclipse guns is the proprietary noid. I have a Geo 2 I stumbled across that airs up and cycles great but has a healthy leak I am guessing is coming from the solenoid. Is the fact that this thing cycles mean there is hope for it or was the failure in leaks? If there is hope how hard/what is serviceable on it? Anything to watch out for so I don't damage it? Sorry for the newb questions but I know nothing of these things.

I don't have experience with the geo2, but have been trying to fix an ego11 for a while, which has the same pilot. At least for this gun, the pilot/coil started to get weak, resulting in low velocity, before it stopped cycling altogether.

I would first check the output pressure of the HPR. I believe the noid will vent if the pressure gets too high. Otherwise, I'd check the solenoid and manifold gaskets. It's possible the last person to look at the gun dislodged the gaskets when attempting to fix it.

The pilot portion is easily removed and can be cleaned out if it doesn't cycle, but this doesn't seem to be an issue in your case.

The "spool" assembly (the ego11 noid uses poppet face seals, not spools. I don't know if the geo2 is the same) is removable technically, but required custom-made tools in my case and is not easy to put back together properly. The custom fasteners used are also sealing surfaces for the poppet seals and are very position-sensitive. I was not successfully putting this solenoid back together after removing this piece and it seems like no one else online has succeeded either.

Check all your reg seats before replacing the noids. You can get new reg seats on eBay there is a member that sells them as well.

The noids have a pressure relief and if your reg seats are bad it will vent through the noid to prevent an over pressure situation. Some of the Geo noids had a small ball that is replaceable it can swell and stick over time but that would cause a sticky solenoid not a leak.
