Does anyone know of a good target setup that reduces mess? My wife hates all the paint and shells around the property.
No mess targets

Cardboard box? Or keep it to a single tree/area that you can hose down and rake up I suppose. I just shoot my neighbors house and make it their problem. (no not really)I am the admin... -

I made a little lean to out of fence scraps. Shoot into it and it knocks the paintballs down into the dirt below it. You can hang a cloth/flag inside it to help catch balls.Need Inception Designs or Shocktech Products? Let me know!

Houses are close enough together in my neighborhood that shooting paintballs in the backyard probably wouldn’t be very popular with my neighbors.
I shoot reusable reballs into a pile of pillows in the basement. Not exactly like a paintball, but they get you in the ballpark velocity wise.
Just don’t put a hole in your drywall… 😬
If I had to use real paintballs, I’d maybe pull the cars out of the garage and shoot into some towels in a horizontal bucket or something.Check out my YouTube channel for overview videos of the WGP Karnivor and WGP Orracle!

To just chrono:
I used a 10-foot piece of large diameter PVC pipe mounted at eye height, with the chrono set up just in front of it. At the far end was a 90-degree with another length of pipe into a 5-gallon bucket with a hole in the lid for the pipe. Empty the bucket as needed, no mess involved.....
Distance and accuracy:
Prop up a plastic wading pool at an angle and paint a target on the bottom. Throw a tarp over it if you aren't using it. Use tarps or plastic to shroud it around the edges if needed to catch bouncers. Old fiberglass tent poles work well for draping tarps.
For that matter, put the pool inside an old tent and shoot through the doorway...
Lots of options.....Comment

Lay a Rubber traffic cone on its side then stuff it with an old t-shirt. Then a bucket underneath to catch the paintComment

Reball. My setup is a bucket on it's side with some foam in it and an old t shirt draped over the front. My Chrono sits on a tripod just in front of it. It's next to my work bench so grand total the reballs only fly about 6 feet.
But I spent $40 on the reballs about 8 years ago and haven't needed to purchase paint for testing since. This will likely depend on your Chrono as different chronos have different requirements. If you are using one of the little yellow haldhelds they need about 10 feet of flight distance to read the velocity correct.I use Tapatalk which does NOT display comments. If you want me to see it, make it a post not a comment.
