Ninja Flex Adjustable Tank Reg

Anyone have experience with these? good? bad?

I’m trying to find a good solution for my Badger so I can play with it a little more often. The only way to adjust the velocity is by shimming the tank reg. I was thinking of running a dedicated tank with one of these so I can adjust a little more finite to hit field speeds

I’ve always had good luck with Ninja Regs, but I’ve never heard anything about there. I just don’t want to dump $150 on a reg id it’s a POS.

My adjustable ninja reg has lasted 3 years, my fixed LP HK reg lasted 3 games. The Bonnet on the HK stripped.

It's not a flex it's a standard ninja reg and it's been through, I think 2 rebuilds but it's going on 14 years now. I have it on the second bottle in it's life now.

I had a ninja flex. I didn't need the adjustability so I went with a v2 pro.

From my limited experience with it, it'll probably do what you want it for. It's much easier to adjust the pressure up when on gun.

So start low and increase.

Now, what valve system is your badger? Velocity on poppit valves is a bit of a balancing act. You get too much pressure behind the poppit, you'll end up dropping the velocity unless you change the springs.

Which, might be a cheaper option than investing 150 on something you may not need if it was originally designed to run in the 800-900 unregged CO2 range.

Just a thought.

I purchased one when it first came out. The output pressure was not constant, and I had to send it to Ninja for a repair. They sent it back with a free magnetic fill cover and thread protector, which was nice touch. Knowing the recent state of Ninja, it might be best to check if their repair and customer service is at the same it was a few years ago.

I tried to use in on an autococker platform, the goal for it to be the main and only regulator. At the lowest setting (300psi if I recall), I had some fluctuations up to 400psi. And when I had the output pressure set to 600psi, it holds steady.

I did find it handy went working with various markers. For example, I would set the output pressure to the highest for a a problematic Tippmann RT or Automag (max setting 900psi) or drop it down to 450psi for modern marker.

I do enjoy the extended length, it means no need for an extender, especially on the shorter tank lengths. As with all regulators, you'll need to bleed the output when reducing the pressure. I imagine at the field, this could mean breaking out regulator testers, using a metal key or tool to press down the pin or a lot of dry firing. It's extra effort and I think just having fixed tank spare would be a better substitute.

I also have a ProV3 regulator and had it shimmed to the highest PSI, 750psi - and so far this has been adequate to support Tippmann rebuilds. I don't work on various markers so much these days, so just having a fixed pressure regulator is perfectly fine at this time.
