I've got some ex rentals that I'm cleaning up and need some tips to make this a little easier. All guns are mech with easy guts that I've already dumped out and have hot soaked and gotten most of the gunk off of. but I'm looking for something of a soak that can help remove old deposits with hopefully a hot water rinse. The frames are die cast aluminum, valves are out of all of them already, so they are essentially gutless at this point in time. hammers and valves are easy to take care of same for springs and barrel. prior attempt has been a dishwasher cycle and no drying heat so I could rinse and wipe. at this point only the trigger, springs and pins remain.

When I did cleaning jobs like this, I used Dawn dish soap. Just be aware that by soaking them you can cause the metal parts like the pins and springs to rust. -
There no magic product I know of that will blast through nasty built up paint slime. If it's particularly crunchy/crusty (not coming off with a normal hot soapy water soak and rinse) then you'll probably need to do a bit of scrubbing. Stiff plastic bristle cleaning brushes are your friend. A pick can be helpful for breaking up thick chunks and getting into little crevasses the brush can't reach. Make sure the steel parts get a careful drying and a coat of oil where possible.Comment

Dump some isopropyl alcohol in there. It will remove some on it's own and what it doesn't it will soften up
