    USPS Experts

Recently braved FB market place for a big purchase. I reminded the guy twice that my PayPal address was incorrect and to use my new address. Well he sent the marker to an 8 year old address of mine. The marker is sitting in a parcel locker at an apartment complex. He’s going down to the Post office to see what he can do. Is there anything I should be doing on the receiving end?

Checking your PayPal address before purchasing?

I'd contact the apartment complex and see if they are willing to ship out to you if you explain the situation. You'll need to pay shipping again of course but I doubt there's anyway to get it shipped to you using the original shipping costs

I'm not sure on the USPS side of things, but as a seller I always ask for the address to which I should mail the item. As a buyer I always provide it to the seller voluntarily.

The only thing I can think of is try and remember any old contacts in that area that are willing to go over and knock on the door or ring the bell of where it was delivered? Tall order, but really that person needs to realize it went to the wrong person and to return to sender.

I’ve had this problem happen and the guy I sent it to had the wrong address and it sat in the apartment parcel box and the manager wasn’t opening it because he wasn’t the registered tenant and he tried to wait out and ask the people that lived in the new unit who use the mailbox and they pretended as if they didn’t know what happened and that Paintball stuff was stolen

Yup, go in and delete any old addresses from your PayPal don't just set a new one because then if it randomly decides to use an old address it can't because there isn't one there

Ok so basically shit out of luck unless apt mgmt helps or the tenant just happens to be a good person in 2025.

I would file a lost package to usps explain the situation to them but get a case number

then if you are close enough to the location just go knock on the door, say hello and explain the situation.

I just sent a pretty good size tote that weighed 78 pounds from my place to the USA and because we have to pay customs first I selected all the origin products come from Taiwan and so I didn’t have to pay. It was free and it tracked through USPS and it just made it to the guy yesterday Buyer

Bros, gotta say that I’m super impressed with USPS. Filed a claim and the next morning I got a call from them. It took some finagling between post office and the resident, but it’s now safely in USPS possession.

Big sigh of relief, I thought I lost a pristine T2 from an original owner.
