E1 Eblade non-standard version (1.03) - what’s the story?

Working on an E1 Eblade tonight, and I noticed the board is a version 1.03 - every other E1 I have is version 1.06

It seems to have all the same functions as the v1.06. Does anybody know what the story is?

The board came out of my spare pile of Eblade parts, and I think I had picked it up by itself off eBay quite some time ago, so I have no idea what marker it was originally installed on.

ok there are e1's, e2's, and worrblade frames....then the board is what gives you the specific version and all boards fit in each frame...there is e1 v1.10, e2 v.24,1.10, and 1.20, and zero-b1.10, 1.20, and i believe now 1.30...now e1v1.10 and e2v.24 are nearly identical except battery life is betetr for e2 and the display reads differently....now the rest of the boards are nearly identical to each other except the name is different. I believe on the e2 versions they list the modes as psp, nxl and so on, while on the zero-b it lists the modes as ramp 1, ramp 2 etc...now price wise it all varys based on basically condition and which boards you are getting....now i saw an e1 with zero-b get sold for 200 while i saw and e2 w e2 software get sold for 180...it all depends at the time...but i think rough estimates are around 160 for the e1 and mebbe a little closer to 200 for an e2...and worrblade might sometimes get a little more then an e1 as they might be a little newer and not as worn as an older e1...but e1's and worrblades are nearly the same frame except the worrblade has a built in bottom rail and enlarged triggert guard...and the e2 is supposedly a slimmer frame and a little faster....but the differences are barely noticiable

From that, it sounds like it may be zero-B flashed?

I don’t think that can be the case. This has the older E1 style screen, and it doesn’t seem to have any zero-b features, plus it wouldn’t make sense to label an updated version as a lower number (in this case 1.03). If anything I think it might be some kind of preproduction board from testing that somehow made it out into the wild.

This is an e1 board, I think the original PBN poster that is quoted may have mistyped or been mistaken. I don't know about 1.03, however all of the e1 boards that I had run across were ver 1.06.

I have no idea what version the E1 actually released with day one but I have seen 1.03 back in the day. I do have an E1 with 1.06 on it. The E1 went through so many software versions until it was refined at 1.06. When the E2 released they already had a mechanical and software foundation so it makes sense the E2 didn't go through as many software versions until it was refined and didn't make it to a 1.0 version. But again I have no idea what versions either one released on.
