Some were lighter. Performance wise, not really. Everyone started pushing the 8 hole mod or similar after agd released some early valves where the hole between the reg and the valve were not aligned. They would get shoot down if they were on opposite sides of the valve. AGD offered to fix those valves and drill another hole so almost immediately they were not any better.
