Events airsoft mask

So I picked up a dirt cheap new Events airsoft mask with the hard mesh.

Are there any downsides to it other then alittle extra paint in my diet?
Coverage seems about the same as a normal paintball mask. It appears that it would allow more airflow then a standard mask.
I've been using the vents masks since 2009 or whenever they were new. So i have a supply of lenses.

1) Some fields may have an issue with it (for insurance/liability reasons).
2) IIRC paintballs carry a lot more kinetic energy than airsoft BBs, so I'd test this first to make sure a paintball won't dent/deform the mesh. It's probably not a real safety issue, but you also don't want ding up a new mask every time you get shot in the face.

Some with fewer teeth sure

But yeah the biggest problem is some fields won't allow them.

And that's assuming the mesh will hold up to a paintball hit. I'd bet it probably will but also I wouldn't risk my face on that bet either.

I feel like this is one of those purchases that in a few months you'll wonder why you didn't just wait for the next paycheck to get the right thing

Ive got 2 still new Eflexs sitting. Grabbed these because of the increased airflow. and the price is less then you would pay for a lens and strap replacement.

Cant really be any worse then getting shot while wearing a flex. Seen plenty of nasty mouth shots taken when wearing those.

I could understand wanting better airflow, I've never had a problem with the e-vent but everyone is different

Unless you found them on some super sale ans lists that airsoft version for $110 but you can get the events 2.0 which is just an e flex for $50 the only difference I'm seeing in the lens/strap is the lens is not the ubber l33t mirror it's just a clear thermal

Straps are $13

So yeah I'd probably get that flex at $50 as well but if you are buying the airsoft version for the lens and strap you might want to shop around a bit

Mesh masks are not compliant with ASTM F1776-22 and therefore technically not acceptable for use in paintball. If a field is paying attention and wants to keep their insurance coverage, they should not permit you to wear it.

I went from JT flex's to Vents back atound 2009 too. On both flex's and vents we use to roll up the bottom rubber so "our voice would carry more screaming in speedball tournaments". At least that was our excuse. It didn't make a difference. We just thought we were cool
