Any one have opinions on Slice pump kits?

I'm being a diva with my latest build....

I want either a white pump or a match Annoed pump.... The matched one I can pull off with parts that cost as much as a white slice.

I'm also debating on cranking out my own design if I let the POS project run away

Get a silver or better and they are quite good. The cheaper kits are cheap for a reason and feel equally so

I am not a fan. I had one of the mini guide rods snap on my during install trying to get it to not twist. I had one of the cheaper ones with the plastic back plate crack. Personally i would rather pay more and get a ccm kit.

I may have a black pre2k guide. no go on the white handle though.

I prefer a CCM kit but considering the current prices and availability I settle for the Slice kit. I like that I can use a CCM handle with a Slice kit as I prefer the shape of a round CCM handle. I'm not a big fan of using a set screw to hold the plate to the rod as I had one back out.

The 3d Print files for the Inception Designs Drift are available so somebody could make whatever color .

I bought a marker that came with a slice kit and replaced it with a CCM one not too long after. The set screw is less than ideal and I did not like the pump handle.

Slice are the most comfortable pump handle shape IMO. CCM is great but getting one is tough. I've had 4-5 slice kits and never had a problem.

I also went and bought the expensive all metal handle with skull pump that Niche makes... sitting around since I just sold that project. Fits on the slice kit with no issues. If you are interested in going that route for an ano matched handle, shoot me a PM.

Going to dust this thread off it you want a comparison between pump kits: https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/p...mp-kit-comparo

My favourite pump kit is a CCM EZ pump kit. Next would be the top level Slice kit. Feels good in your hands, hasn't given me any issues. Only complaint is the plastic red colour doesn't particularly match my build. Should have gone with black handle with red annoed metal bits. The biggest benefit is you can easily get a Slice kit. CCM? Not so much.

As for ID, I hate the drift kit's pump handle and found it uncomfortable to use, so no go for me.

I supposed you can also look at a Meteor pump kit as well, but may need to modify your body. Their kits are comfortable, but not exactly drop-in for most bodies. If I get time maybe I need to add the Meteor pump to that thread I made.

I generally use CCM it's just the availability of a white pump that makes the slice appealing.....

Can I machine a white CCM pump? Yes but every machine in my arsenal is either in preventative maintenance cycle or cranking till February on production parts.

And I want this project now! (Veruca Salt voice)

Totally understandable, especially if it's a nice build. Worth doing it right. Can always get a handle as placeholder to when you get something you like better. That way you can move ahead on the build and not get stuck in purgatory waiting.

I like the Slice. But I definitely prefer a CCM EZ Grip

If I wasn’t going CCM I probably go for the $50 Inception Genesis kit I like it better then the Drift actually.

              CCM
              Vendetta
              Meteor
              Genesis
              Slice
              Drift

My personal favorites In that order

                another option is SLiCEPTiON

good if youre building a mini. the inception kit is good quality. you get a fluted guide and anti rotation step on the vasa.

and im with Cdn_Cuda, the vendetta handle is not my style. but im also with Lt. head-shot, slice handles are very comfy.

very easy mod. drill out the slice plate (the inside of the plate has the shape built into it), remove the delrin sleeve, replace the return spring (optional), round off the end of the fluted guide for extra smoothness.

the parts are not too hard to find. but a mini slice kit is.

and ill throw in the sanchez kits as a harder to find one that is a favorite of mine.

-on the cheaper side usually (<$100 in my experience)

-can also take inception fluted guides

                  -able to match anno

                  -small profile with unique feel

Found a white EZ pump..... No plate but still less fugly then the slice kits.
