    Lubricant for tank reg rebuild?

Is dow 33 safe for regulator rebuilds? Just want to be sure before doing anything dumb.

you can use pretty much anything appropriate on the output side, won't cause issue.

Thank you! I've rebuilt inline regs but this will be the first tank reg rebuild. Kinda nervous with all the warnings about the right lubricant everywhere. It's a Hero 2 Reg.

Just don't put anything on the input side. The fill nipple. I don't know whats good for the reg itself though, probably good ol dow 33

Nothing petroleum based, AFAIK. Dow should be fine.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

      Dow 33

Any of the o rings in the regulator are only subject to the output pressure of the tank

Don't grease the fill nipple in any way or the regulator seat. But all the o rings and such, grease it up

Dow33 or any of the paintball rebranded Dow33 or Dow33 light, I have used a variety of these as advised by Ninja and have had zero issues. I would avoid anything with added color or scent as a general rule of thumb and you should be good to go. Even some of the colored or scented stuff is safe, but you are right to be cautious and there is plenty of proven safe stuff that is widely available for cheap.

Any grease you would use on any other regulator. Avoid putting lube anywhere exposed to tank pressure and you'll be fine.

I appreciate all the guidance on this forum. Reg has been rebuilt and safely holds air!

I believe Ninja has recommended Dow Corning Molykote 111 as well

                No Earth-shattering kaboom?

Good deal. Now use the heck out of it.
