Tippmann Pro Lite barrel, valve, and end cap ID

I know the all black barrel is a Tippmann Sniper barrel but it’s 14”. Everything I’ve read so far only mentions a 16” so I guess Tippmann made these in different sizes? The 2 piece barrel is 15 3/4” and is stainless steel and aluminum. It’s a glued 2 piece. Any idea of who made it? There are no logos anywhere but the finish is very well honed.

The valve is anno’d a gun metal grey like color. All the pics I’ve seen of pro lite valves they look like raw aluminum. Is this an aftermarket valve? The valve spring is pretty light. Lighter than a TechT valve spring.

The end cap seems aftermarket but I’m not sure. Could it be a DIY? It’s a sling ring, no?

The two piece looks like SP to me. All the Pro Lite valves I've ever seen have been anno'd. Not sure on the end cap. Very well done if it is homebrew.

End cap looks like someone put a clevis pin in the removal hole for a sling mount.

Yes Tippmann sold different lengths of their sniper barrel

Valve wise.... Only seen raw ones in beat rentals

I had a buddy that ran the lathe for those Tippman barrels. He taken one and cut the it down toe like 9.5 or so, It was just long enough that the slice porting stuck out of the grip and it was badass looking

Ya my sniper barrel is 14”.
I’ve never seen a raw prolite valve . However yours seems to have 2 pins holding in the rear cup seal rather then a c clip, correct? That is an early valve the same that came in the pro am.

Do you know if there are any other differences between the C clip valves and the retaining pin valves? I think I read that Tippmann “upgraded” the valve with a shorter one and a longer hammer/front bolt. Or maybe I have it backwards

I think the valve, power tube, and front bolt all changed size but it’s been a long time and I can’t be sure if I’m remembering correctly. It’s seems to me that you can switch all 3 parts between versions but you can’t change only 1 or 2 as they are not compatible with each other.

Well whatever it is, I like it. It found a new home on the A5

Well, maybe not. I put it on my Pro-Lite, Pro Carbine, F4, and Crossover and there is a small gap between the breech and the barrel. I found an old thread by Toestr and it looks like I have a Pro Am barrel with no Pro Am to go on. Could this be machined to work on my standard “A5” barrel thread markers and how much do you guys think that would cost? If it’s more than I’m willing to pay how much do you guys think I could sell or trade it for?

As far as I recall proam threads were prolite threads

Pro am / lite / FA / A5 / tipx are the ones im aware of that share thread pattern.

The threads may be the same, but minor differences can cause an odd fit between guns of different generations.

For example, Kingman Spyder, Kingman Hammer. Both are presumably the same threads, but to get a Spyder barrel to fully seat in a Hammer you have to either somehow cut a few more threads into the body, or dremel off the first two threads on the barrel.

That seems to be the same issue with the Pro-Am barrel. Compare it to the verified Pro-lite barrel...

Notice how there are more threads and they go closer to the breech of the barrel. Probably too many threads for the later guns and it's just running out of threads in the body. Very, very carefully removing a few threads from the barrel may allow it to screw in farther.

Thank you very much! I can definitely remove the threads to make it fit.

The end cap may be aftermarket. It obviously longer than the Pro Carbine end cap with more threads. Tippmann has the Pro Lite, 68 Carbine, and Pro Carbine listed as using the same end cap and this one is different. Another possibility is this, the Pro Lite I’m building is a very low serial number. It does not has the valve window in the body or the hole in the body to install a vertical adapter. It’s all solid. Basically a Pro Lite in a Pro Am body. So maybe the Pro AM used a different end cap. I can’t find any info
              on that though.
