To fix aliminum that tou gotta reweld it, then remachiene it. Is it possible, most likely, is it cost effective? Unlikely. Not to mention reanno would look weird on the original vs the welded area

No idea. I look down one day and see the fracture. I never used it in gameplay and I don’t recall ever dropping it.
Looking back at old pictures, it’s been broken since 2017.

If it has more meat it could be shaved down flat on top, then recut the dovetail but doesn't look like that's possible

Flip it over. Machine the dovetail into the "bottom" and just make the top flat

Mill the entire asa round enough to fit inside the cage for a WGP cage asa.That won't leave any noticeable marks as to where the break was.

My $0.02…

Easy solution: replace the ASA and then have the whole marker anodized again.

Ghetto solution: replace the ASA with one that doesn’t match (there are a couple of those ASAs on eBay right now).

Most logical solution: leave it alone. It’s been broken for almost a decade, and you don’t actually use the marker, so put it back together and just glance at it lovingly whenever it catches your eye.

All these years... that will work perfectly. I need to find a local place to work that out.
Looking again, maybe not. I'm missing about 0.1" of width on the bottom. I think I'll still give it a try.

If the above option doesn't work out, it looks like its possible to round it out for everyone's favorite Check It Unimount. That's what I have on there now.

I use the marker now that tunaman5 fixed it up for me. 13 years and he got it working last month.

if yuou go the rounding route, its easy enough to make a custom cage ... no matter what its gonna cost you more than a new asa (unless you do it yourself)

Of course there won't be any trace of the break if you mill the ENTIRE asa... Ruining the anno, which obviously was the point of trying to save the asa in the first place. How could that seem to be a serious suggestion?

Maybe mill flat, then flip over and mill for t slot. Or mill flat flip over and reverse dovetail mill it like viewloaders? Had.

That's why I don't Anodize an ASA to match my projects. Asa's are disposable

Think maybe there would be enough meat in the female ASA threaded section to drill through it to allow it to simply bolt up through the bottom, like a ducktail?
The Infinity Legend ASAs were machined like that.
