I sent him two emails on 01/06/2021. The one with attachments bounced because his mailbox doesn't have much storage left. The one with no attachments made it through just fine and Andrew replied to me same day and told me to go ahead and mail my marker in. The next day 01/07/2021 I sent my marker to him and sent a follow up email with some additional questions. I have not yet received a reply. I sent him an additional follow up email today, I'll keep you posted with the developments. I'm assuming he is just swamped and will get to it when he gets to it, I'm in no rush on this at all so I don't mind.

Still no reply from Nummech. I have sent new follow up emails to all addresses listed on his site asking him to just confirm he received them. I'm still not in a rush, but I am getting irritated at the lack of communication. I have not had him reply to an email since his initial email on January sixth.

Update: Success! Looks like you need be sure to email the web support address as well as the info address for him to reply. So he definitely has some inbox issues, but does reply rapidly and professionally when something gets through. I'm chalking this up to just IT issues coupled with excessive volume.

I am 2 for 2 on orders coming promptly from Nummech (one arrived today) so am inclined to think IT was the culprit.

It's not an IT issue, it's a custom order/work issue. Andy's turn around time for custom work is less than ideal. It took me 19 months to get my two shocker bodies back from him despite him quoting me ~6 months.

Things you can buy get shipped pretty fast
I was looking at buying a couple of feedneck but there is no way to order one unless you talk to him first

I asked Nummech to return my gun today after he failed to reply to my emails from April.

I understand that small jobs are no one's priority, but when you initially quote me 30 days tops and we hit 6 months and you aren't even replying to emails....yah. I just told him to ship it back and charge me for the work he has completed on it.

Extremely disappointed. His communication was a wildly frustrating experience. I feel very misled about the turn around, and never received a satisfying answer for the huge delay.

At any rate I'll let everyone know how the return goes. I'm not overly concerned.

This is completely overlooking the fact that Andy stinks at responding, nevermind that not everyone has a Facebook. If nummech is actually so busy that they don’t have time to keep up with emails then they should reconsider their position on taking custom work.

Kinda seems like that slippery paintball slope we’ve seen elsewhere… but hopefully not. No harm is saying you’re too busy to do work. Lots of harm in taking work and letting it sit for months and not even talking to customer.

Update: Not sure if it was how I worded the email or the content, but Andy immediately emailed me back every single time in under 15 min today. Apparently the feedneck adapter "was scheduled to be made this week, but will need even more time for anno" I told him I didn't give a shit about the anno, the whole project is getting sent somewhere else for a match anno eventually. Throw what is done in the box and ship it out.....I have a tracking number, and he is including the feedneck adapter (complete, but raw) and the feedneck (also complete but raw) at a heavy discount.

Makes me suspect that it was either already made and he was having issues with his annodizer, or he just busted it out quick because I was making a stink. Either way I'm glad I can finally move forward with this project.

Just as a bit of FYI, personally I've been having a TON of trouble with anodizers in the last year or so.

One, out of California, was already on shaky ground due to state regs, and being shut down for Covid put the last nail in their coffin. Took me six months to get my batch of still-raw parts back.

Another was only finally allowed to move back to full shifts a couple months ago, and has a massive backlog to chew through.

And a third was only mildly affected by Covid, but because of that, was soaking up emergency jobs from shops that did have to close or go into partial-shifts.

Places I'd usually get three-week turnarounds from in a couple cases stretched out to eight and ten weeks.

Not saying that's what's going on with Nummech, but it has been an issue.
