    Regulator on nelson based pump

I recently saw what appeared to be a regulator screwed into the back of a nelson based pump. What is the purposes of this? Does it help?

Regulating air pressure.... Basically another point of velocity adjustment albeit a limited one

      Would any HPA regulator work?

You can regulate Phantoms if you want but you need to find one that operates at higher pressure. Phantoms like high pressure. (800-850psi on stock silver springs)

They work fine without. However you can run one of you want.

CCI made one for the revolution but it works on a regular phantom. Palmers made a valve body with a built in stabilizer. Or you can just screw one into any phantom ASA option.

      I run a phantom and a Hammer7 with regs and 12ies.

I can see better consistency in both markers compared to rawdogging 12ies. Efficiency is a little worse, but in my climate it doesn’t matter much.

It also lets you run a lighter mainspring for easy pumping, and a quieter shot signature.

As a bonus my phantom sidestab lets me set velocity without a 3’ long allen key

I also forgot to mention regs let you pull a dirty af trick in all-stockclass games.

If you are slick, you can bait in an aggressive player who hears you pop your 12ie, and then surprise them with the shot stored in the reg.

This one has a high output pressure (900 psi). I will be running it on my Maverick (Trracer) this week.

          https://palmerspursuit.com/collectio...700-psi-output

I had an AKA sidewinder reg (800 psi) on it, but I needed to adjust the screw almost all the way out just to hit 280 fps on a 12g cartridge; stock spring.

Shots were more consistent the longer I waited between them, which says more about 12g CO2 than it does a regulator.

I averaged ~29 shots per cartridge which is about what I was getting un-regulated. FPS held at about 240 the whole time.

Palmers sidestab on the phantom, wgp sledge on the hammer7.

Both set at 550psi, stock springs in the hammer7 and both light springs in the phantom.

Anyone have any other recommendations on brads/models that offer high output?

Blastlegacy has high output 360 regs, but as a rule I try not to use regs designed with only hpa in mind.
