    Repair or replace?

I have an OG Dye Rotor that has burned up the motor. A new motor is costing me about 30 bucks shipped.

I can buy a used Revvy in good condition for about 30 bucks shipped.

I mostly play scenario and recball, but do occasionally play on the airball field. I do have another OG Rotor that still works.

And I shoot electro, mech, and pump...so versatility is helpful.

Just asking opinions for which route is the most logical, as I see perks to both.

Those motors are a standard 180 can size also commonly used in the slotcar (and nerf) hobby and replacements should be cheap, even if you want to try a few different ones. I'd look at motors between 20-30krpm but have no idea what the original runs at.

This could be a decent starting point: https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B0F5HLYWH3

    If it doesn't have the [F] i don't want it. - Europoor

Oohh, good to know!!! Im not super savvy with electronics, but I would imagine moving the wires over would be easy enough.

For $30 I would just replace the motor. Esp if the shell is decent still

If it helps, the motor is $25 on ANS and they have free shipping on orders $19 or more. Saves you $5. 👍🏻

I love my Rotors but the revvy’s are great as well. The revvy would be better for pump with the agitation vs force fed. They do work on mech but the modern mechs can out shoot them. You do already have a rotor that’s good. So a revvy might be a good option.

I would swap over some parts from your known good rotor to insure that it’s definitely a dead motor before buying parts.

¿Porqué no los dos? I love revvies because they feed fast enough for most of my needs and they're about half the weight of a rotor but there are sometimes where I want to be sure there's a ball chambered (blind electros or fast mechs) so I reach for the LTR or halo. I suppose though if you had to have one loader to rule them all then the rotor is the way to go as it will work fine on just about everything. It's nice to have options though.

As much as I love the revy, I love the rotor more. I spend most of my time shooting space mechs from awkward angles, so its nice to know things are feeding correctly/well.

This is a great idea!! Thanks, not sure why I didn't think of that!

                    Redundant hoppers= redundant parts

I value that concept highly. You might not.
