    PPS regulator threads

PPS regulator threads look zippered. Like half of the thread turn right, the other half turn left.

Were these machined wrong or are they just meant for another application other than a standard ASA

Definitely machined wrong, or a previous owner of that red tried cross-threading it. I suspect the former- not sure how it could have gotten through QC, though.

It might be able to be saved by running a die over it- 1/2" NPS will do in a pinch- or remachining it. Really, if PPS was still around, I'm sure they'd have replaced it- or just the end cap, but that's no longer an option.

Did you just get it new, or buy it used?

And, if necessary, I'll take it off your hands.

I had a palmers reg blow out of my asa once. I had annoed it but that removes a few thousands of an inch, and always wondered if it was my doing. Im beginning to rethink it now.

Almost every PPS product I've ever seen had some sort of major manufacturer defect. Threads stripped pre-ano, ram pistons not loctited to the shaft, etc.

Is it just ran by a global distributor selling old stock? Their website is copyrighted 2026. Sent them an email so we’ll see what I hear back.
-I was given to understand Craig and/or Glenn were just selling the last of their inventory (which I presumed was quite a bit when they closed) basically out of a garage in their spare time. I wonder if that wasn't assembled out of leftover parts- the cap is matte and the body glossy.

Craig should make good on it, if he has the parts to repair or replace it.

        If not, my offer stands.

Speaking of not noticing, that IS left-hand threaded. That part was bad right out of the machine, it's scrap. (The cap, anyway.)

I thought it looked a bit odd, but I focused on it being cross-threaded, not left-hand.

What application used a left-handed ASA? Only one I can think of is the old Max Flows that used detachable 3K psi tanks. Those were basically left-hand ASA, to keep somebody from screwing a 3,000 psi tank into their, like, Tippmann or something.
