How to clean knurl finish on Metadyne Havoc barrel?

Greetings,

Any hints from the McB community on the best way to cleanup this knurl surface?

I gave it a good warm soap soak and scrubbed with a nylon brush - and had little impact.

I’m worried a dental pick would hard the finish but that might be the last step if no solutions come up.

50-50 mix water and rubbing alcohol and a tooth brush should do it.

Could always do the bong method. Put it in a big tupperware or bag with rubbing alcohol and salt and shake the shit out of it.

Strip it with whatever they use to strip anno. Lye? Needs reanno anyway right? If you blast it or tumble it you are going to lose the sharp edges on the checkering. Does t come apart?
