PMI Piranha (Semi) Question - Striker O-ring and Volumizer

    Hello McB community,

Is the stiker oring the same as Spyder? Usually I can get away with a bottle oring (nitrile) on a Spyder but not in this case.

Is the active volumizer positioned correctly, I can’t recall if the spring goes on the piston closer to the main body or opposite.

    thanks

015 o ring for the hammer, same as a spyder but the hammer itself is actually larger so you can't swap them

The real orientation of the parts you have there is you throw the spring and piston in the trash as long as there's no hole in the front of the volumizer.

But from the factory that's correct

I was about to order every “striker oring” and these are funny #14.3 size with different “pu” rating.

You don't need to pay $1.50 per ring. Damn that's a lot

Here. 4.6 cents per ring, these are buna so it's a different material but will work fine

        https://www.globaloring.com/product/n70015/

If you really want the urethane rings these will work. They are 90 durometer instead of 70 so they are a little harder. Technically these are tank o rings but the price breaks out to .41 cents each. There's probably a better price out there but typically you are having to order like 100 to get it

Piranhas DO NOT use 015 orings on the hammer. It is a 016, and I’m fairly certain (though I can’t confirm) that they were a lower duro (like 50 or 60). It has been a while though so I could be wrong. I just remember not being able to use a regular 016-70.

Update from my side: #15 black buna oring from the tank oring bag was unsuccessful, #16-70 black buna can recock, but not consistent. Some recocks are short and sputter, and some recocks lock on the sear but won’t trip with the trigger pull (which might be related to the side slide lever that pulls don’t the sear so the guts can be pulled without removing the trigger frame.

Another possibly is the HPA tank is mid pressure 450-500psi. Are Pirahnas hungry for 800-850psi tank pressure?

First off Magmoormaster was correct it's a 016, I must have been thinking of something else that uses a 015 on a larger than spyder hammer

Your recocking issues are likely pressure related. Because the hammer is larger it needs a little more energy than normal spyders to recock. Often times just shooting paint or having a swab in the barrel creates enough back pressure that it will recock consistently but they were designed around CO2 so they like high pressure

Piranhas and "Fat" striker Spyders - 016
                "Slim" striker Spyders - 015

Unless setup specifically for low-pressure, then Piranhas (and Spyders) like HPA at 800+PSI.
                I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

Maybe that's what it was, the fatty spyders. I had one for a while, if I remember right the nose of the hammer was slightly smaller and there was a step inside the body where it went into. So it still used a 015 o ring because the nose was the same size as a normal spyder hammer but the rest of it was much larger.

I had a marker that was configured like that anyway, confused the hell out of me for a bit because I was trying to put a 016 on it and it wouldn't work
