Yong Heng Air Pump - Help

Well, nobbie333recently borrowed me this Yong Heng Air Compressor, that was given to him by a friend who said it was working years ago.

After a quick oil change, and adding a water cooling system, I feel like I am missing something obvious.

It does turn on, and I have figured out the moisture Valve and the pressure valve. The steel hard lines heat up extremely quickly....it seems to output almost zero pressure though? It definitely outputs a bit of pressure, but less then even a regular compressor does. Leaving a tank on it for 5+ minutes does nothing. There were no obvious leaks when I sprayed it down with soapy water.

    Am I missing something obvious?

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

Have you looked for anywhere that its venting or perhaps has an open valve? I dont have a home HPA system so I can only speculate. also have you examined the hose itself to make sure its got the Oring in the QD or that the ends are tightened?

fwiw there are screws missing from the cover, have you investigated the inside to see if theres a trouble sign within?

I have, even sprayed it down with soapy water looking for leaks but nothing seemed obvious.

Is there air passing thru the system with no pressure? When no tank is hooked up and you close the valves can you feel airflow out the nipple?
There is a filter in my vevor(yh knockoff) in the top of the condenser block on the left. If this clogs I believe you can have this issue.
If not that I would check the safety relief valve. if that leaks youll never get pressure.
My recommendation would be to order a parts kit and rebuild it, they are not hard. But don’t be surprised if it tops out at far less than 4500 after a rebuild.

Yes, some air is passing through, but it can't be more then like 20 psi. I can feel it if I put my hand over the fill nipple.

That filter sounds like a VERY likely culprit. I'll check that and report back. I'll double check the safety relief valve too.
Working...
