What's missing from this meteor ASA, and can I source a new one?

I've got a meteor pump I'm rebuilding and the ASA was leaking. I took it apart and it seems like a part is missing from the front adjustment screw area. Like a spring, plunger, or something else meant to press on the rod. Something has to press against the rod to seal it against the o-ring, right???

Can I source something to fix this?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Photo shows all the parts that were inside. The threaded cap is completely hollow and has no "pin" of any sort inside.

Mine has the same amount of parts. Maybe a bad oring in the brass part. With the brass piece assembled. Push the pin in by hand. You should feel drag when the pin go thru the middle section.

That's good news! At least I'm not missing something! Hrmmmmm.... it's gotta be an o-ring problem then. I suppose it seals up without needing pressure applied from the front end. Thank you for taking a look sir! I really appreciate it!

I was able to get it working! Appears to have been a poorly sized oring from the oring store 🤤 used an 008-D70 from a different set and got a seal 😎 thanks dude!
    Working...
