Best option to fix female autococker threads.

So..... Picked up a used Nova n4.1 I was told it was only played once. The things was a mess... Got it all cleaned up and the barrel doesn't seem to sit right. Threads seem ok. But I've tried a few different barrels and non seem to thread in beyond 2-3 turns and then it sticks tight. Any way to re-tap or chase the threads?

I suppose you could chase it with a bottoming tap.... But if its crushed or out of round that is not going to fix it

I'm not sure that it is out of round. I thought about cutting slits into an old barrel to make a thread chaser out of it. But getting a proper 15/16-20 tap is probably best I guess.

can you get a camera on the threads to understand what might have happened to it?
