Only thing I would add is I had to buy a fairly thin walled socket to fit. before this I actually shaved down a socket to fit properly

They sell the socket for it at auto zone or other auto stores for a few dollars. I pretty much have to buy one every time I need to take a cocker vertical ASA off because I always lose it.

Why did they even use that stupid thing?

They are able to activate pin valves.

But your tank regulator would have to be set up to output exactly what you needed....

Seems kind of backwards, set it up with a hex head screw instead, then anyone who wants to run a vertical bottle can swap out the screw even they are taking off the regulator

-That's just it, the 12-point head long predates regulators, let alone HPA. The original Snipers and first few generations of Autocockers were designed to run on unregulated CO2. A common setup was to just screw a 3.5 or 7-ounce straight into the ASA, vertically. Velocity was adjusted with the IVG.

And even after they started using regulators (factory and aftermarket) they kept using that screw just out of inertia- "we've always done it this way".

Yeah, for years they ran unregulated co2 like any other Sheridan. The fact that they’re hard to take off probably has saved us more vertical asas than it has cost us in slipped tools that didn’t quite fit. I wonder how many speciality anodized body kits have that screw to match for the presence of their vertical asa? Heh
