Is there any market for these old reg/tank combos? I know the tank is dead 1999 but the reg could be put on a newer tank or it could be a wall hanger.

Also what’s a beat up untested mag go for? I know the market is hot for them right now but I have a clean one and this one that’s rough.1 PhotoFeedback: https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/b...ova-s-feedback

If you leave the drop on it and are using macro or QD on SS braided lines all you have to do is turn the air off, take off the two drop screws and screw it on the second marker. Not as convenient as a screw in tank but only a couple min to swap over. Easier than a max-flo
i don’t know if they are still available but AGD did sell flatline rebuild kits.Feedback: https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/b...ova-s-feedback

Of course, there is a market. I want older markers because their components are from a different time period that is long gone. That includes a regulator looking like it's out of a damn science lab. When somebody starts putting all modern components on an old marker, I get it....but my interest in owning it quickly dissipates. Even just the drop on this comes from an era with a different view on aesthetics, style, and functionality that I so much prefer to anything modern. Enjoying an old marker with a flatline or max-flo on it is half the fun, a good thing to keep in mind is that old doesn't equate to lesser when it comes to build quality.

Regarding Automag's, I am sick of people trying to sell the most generic Automag in existence for a ridiculous price because they are under the impression what they have is in demand right now. The best advice I can give is to sell yours for what it is worth, instead of trying to ride some wave of delusion like the rest. If you have a really clean automag, keep it and enjoy it.
If you have a body/frame/rail or other components that are rare, it's fair for you to want decent money and buyers will be happy to pay.
It is still possible to pick up really beautiful components for not much more money than what some are attempting to sell a stock mag at.
The market is going to be flooded with builds comprised of cf frames/twist lock bodies/barrels and stock rails "for sale" at laughable prices until those people decide they no longer want to be laughed at and remove the AD.Last edited by Erase; 11-06-2022, 02:49 PM.

The problem with beater Mags is that there are so many out there that are in decent shape. Value, in that shape, maybe $50.00, Max of $70? Rebuild it and use it as a loaner, or include it as an extra in another sale.
As for the Flatline, I believe AGD has rebuild kits. I've never been able to sell mine, at any price. So I bought a rebuild kit, and am looking for a 68 3k tank to put it on. I'll use it on one of my older, oddball Mags that hangs on the wall.
Good luck,
Walker
