    Fancy Viper M1

Wondering what this viper m1 might be worth? The ano is pretty unique, as far as I can tell its the exact one in the pic on the way back machine from the late 90s. I gave her a full rebuild/sourced some internal parts, an m16 stock, and a carry handle with an old red dot. She shoots right now, but the trigger/hammer get hung up sometimes, I have another set of trigger internals I'm gonna try installing, see if that makes a difference.
    Thanks

Just a sweet looking Anno on that... Can't help with the price as I don't know much about vipers, but I really like how clean and crisp it looks.

Vipers are surprisingly underrated, and anno'ed ones are especially rare, are generally well known among aficionados, but not famous enough that random collectors with deep pockets are fighting over them. Most of the oddball blowback hoarders tend to be unapologetic cheapskates (myself included) who love finding a great deal as much as a cool find. Makes pricing one of these rather tricky. The last splash anno Viper to sell that I can remember was one I sold, 8 years ago. And when you have to factor in inflation to an estimate due to age it's not much of an indicator of current value. I did sell mine for just over twice of what I bought it for, if that helps.

Basically we're in effectively unknown territory. You'll be basically setting a new baseline value if you manage to sell it.

I really dig it. What barrels do Vipers take again? Can't remember if it was some proprietary lock type system...

yeah, proprietary twist lock system, uses a very thin wire detent that is held into the barrel with a steel ring

The barrel isn't proprietary, but it is extremely rare. Only a few guns, all Illustrator clones, seem to have used it. It's an F shaped twist lock. My Laser uses the same system, adjusts velocity the same way, and is also an Illustrator clone.
