    Early sniper 1 #653 value?

I just acquired this from a friend. He gave it to me and told me to give him what I feel like paying. I do not want to take advantage of him as I am coming to recognize its valuable. But what is a good estimate of value? Pumps and fires and has an auto trigger on it as well. Any help of a good value is appreciated. Numbered 653 on body.

It’s a sniper 1 with sniper 2 back block and bolt added as well as the auto trigger.

I'd say $300-$400... It's not mint but, it's not beat all to hell either. There was a website selling used Sniper II's, not too long ago, for $200-$300 (iirc). The Sniper I's sold for about $330 new. I'm sure more people will chime in soon.😉

edit: took me a second to find the Sniper II's thread. I know, I know it's not the same thing but, might help some. 🤷‍♂️

It's a cool piece for sure, but it's a bit tricky to value as these don't often come up often and when they do they are usually modified a bit (like yours) which can impact the value vs. one that is 100% original. My gut is telling me a few hundred, but I have no basis for comparison.

The Thompson style barrel is still a hot commodity these days. That helps the value. I'd put it at around 300 as well.

Okay great. I’ll give him a fair price for it. Mind if I ask you some more questions as I begin tinkering with this thing? I plan on leaving it as is aside from updating the air hoses and running it with hpa.

In non-working, but good visual, condition it would certainly sell quickly at 200. This is what I would give to your friend as a minimum value.

I think it would be slow to sell at 350. But if it was ready to use (working and rebuilt) then it would definitely sell there eventually.

I'd gladly answer any questions, that I can. Or at least point you in right direction for the answers. MCB is full of people, that are total dorks, when it comes to tuning Snipers and such.

With the autotrigger kit and this barrel I would be happy to pay $350 for it.

If you ever want to trade for a more modern sniper let me know.

Awesome man. I’ve got line and a new asa coming for it to be able to use a hpa tank. I will reach out and ask with some help tuning when the time comes
