    PMI clear barrel

Can I get a value on this?

Member here wants to buy this from me. It’s minty, no cracks. He’s made an offer, I just want to know what people think before I accept or counter.

    Spyder threaded.

& also, how the hell do I ship a barrel should we come to a deal? Lol.

    Thanks!

No idea on value, seems like a very specific collector's item.

Create a smaller box within a box and use zip-ties to lightly bind it. You want to have structure so it doesn't have any weight bearing down on it.

I’m a weirdo, but I’d maybe drop $100 - 150 on a mint one of those. And then of course 10 more will suddenly appear

I kinda want one even though I know I would hate it! It's cool looking for sure.

Hopefully it's used as for a wall hanger

It’s a perfectly fine barrel for play!

They seem to be pretty rare anymore. Definitely something only a collector with a specific vision would be interested. If I was to have it and offer it up for sale I would put $50-60 + shipping, hope that helps.

Yes, it's clear and that is a little neat, but these barrels are not great. I can't fathom why they are being over hyped in our current time.

It’s because they look cool. Is that…news to anyone?

They were traditionally bad barrels because they were cheaply designed and made but there isn't any reason they could not be good as the low pressure coefficient of friction (COF) for clear polycarbonate is 0.4 and aluminum has a COF of 0.3 - 1.5 depending on the level of polish of the surface. If tested I expect that most of the common aluminum barrels out there do not receive a COF of 0.3 and I am positive CF barrels are no where close to 0.4 of Polycarbonate . Polycarbonate is very stable, strong and actually has a pretty good UV resistance. These could have been just as good barrels as a CF barrel. They just did not do a good job designing and making them. Hell I'm tempted to make one with a freak back for shits and giggles.

lol, I already started looking for tubing. Put in for a quote for 19 mm OD and 17.5 mm ID tubing [0.748 " OD x 0.689" ID]. I have a couple old glued backs that could be easily bored for 5" inserts and I already built a barrel gluing jig. Will need to come up with a tip like the old CCM CF barrels to protect the end. Polycarbonate is real hard but the ends can be chipped easily.
